Marquese Scott: A Glimpse at His Nonstop Dance Moves

Dancing has been a passion of many people in this world these days. However, not all of them are given the chance to show it or be highly skilled at it. Marquese Scott is just one of these people who are blessed with amazing dancing talent which the world eventually recognized until in the present years.

Marquese Scott was born in Englewood CA on the 5th of November 1981
and was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. In the first place, he dreamed to be an architect. However, he has been engrossed in the love of music and art. He started dancing during his high school years in Indianapolis. He joined friends in the dance circle at the local skating rink. For this reason, he learned about dance artists like street performer Flat Top and Turbo, also known as Boogaloo Shrimp and become popular in the movie “Breakin”.

In the year 1999, Marquese joined the US Navy where he spent 4 years as the USS Constellation navigator. He toured Mexico, Gulf Region, Hawaii, Australia and Singapore. During these years, he had realized that he was still filled with the love of dance. For this reason, he finally decided to pursue his professional dancing career after his enlistment in 2003.

By pursuing this career, he got the name “Nonstop”. It was the same year when Nonstop moved to Atlanta GA. This is the place where he learned more dance techniques and met more dancers. He became a member of different dance groups such as Electric Ground Control, G-Style South, Siberian Nights, and Collizion being a founding Remote Kontrol member.

He then started to upload videos of himself in YouTube while dancing in different public places. He also appeared on America’s Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance with Remote Kontrol, his dance crew. His 53rd YouTube video showed that he is danced to the Pumped Up Kicks of Foster the People in 2011 with the Butch Clancy remix. He then obtained notoriety for his special dancing abilities. That video became viral and in four months, it gained more than 30 million views. In the present, that video has already more than 99 million views.

Nonstop has been dancing to dubstep which is the kind of music originated in United Kingdom (specifically in London). His dance moves are incorporated with elements of popping, waving and animation. In fact, all of his videos were not aided by any trick photography. Rather, they reflect un-choreographed body movements in real times. After a big break in Pumped Up Kicks, Nonstop also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show including other online and TV commercials. Here, he showcased his remarkable performance on the dance floor. Marquese also founded the dance event called as “Shut Up and Dance”.
